Salisha Maharaj
Salisha Maharaj is a Senior Clinical Psychologist working in the Child, Adolescent and Family Unit at Tygerberg Hospital and Lecturer at Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa. She works therapeutically with children and their families as well as teaches in various programs in the Department of Psychiatry focused on infant, child, and adolescent mental health.
Salisha co-ordinates the Tygerberg Hospital Infant Mental Health Clinic as part of the training and teaching faculty of the first MPhil in Infant Mental Health degree in sub-Saharan Africa.
Salisha is the Editorial Assistant for the WAIMH online publication Perspectives in Infant Mental Health and former Secretary of the Western Cape Association for Infant Mental Health.
She a PhD Candidate, with her research topic focused on Parental Embodied Mentalizing in the South African setting.
