How to get to the CCD

By Air

Dublin is highly accessible for delegates travelling from the UK, Europe, the US, and beyond. Dublin Airport is just 15 minutes from The Convention Centre Dublin via the Port Tunnel and serves over 180 routes – including direct flights to all major UK and European cities and daily flights to the Emirates and several North American cities.

For your journey to The CCD, Dublin Bus operates a 24-hour service from the city centre to the airport. Dublin Express also offers a direct service to and from the airport, stopping at Custom House, which is a short walk from The CCD. Taxi and car hire services are also easily available.

By Sea

Frequent ferry services to the UK and mainland Europe are within easy reach of The Convention Centre Dublin. Dublin Port is just minutes away, while Rosslare Harbour, with regular ferry services to Wales, France and Spain, is located just 2 hour’s drive from The CCD.

By Car or Taxi

The Convention Centre Dublin is just minutes away from Ireland’s M50 motorway network and Dublin’s Port Tunnel, It is also next to the Samuel Beckett Bridge which spans the River Liffey, aiding access between the North and South of the city.

The CCD has its own underground car park, with over 2,000 spaces located in car parks nearby, as well as considerable on street ‘pay and display’ parking on North Wall Quay and adjoining roads.

By Rail, Tram or Bus

Conveniently located in Dublin’s Docklands, the business hub of the city, The Convention Centre Dublin can be accessed via a growing network of public transport options.

Rail and DART

The CCD is less than 10 minutes on the Luas Red Line from Dublin’s two main railway stations, Connolly and Heuston. Operated by Irish Rail, these stations serve all the major towns and cities in Ireland.

The DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) rail network runs along the coast of Dublin, from Malahide and Howth, to Bray and Graystones, providing transport from the city centre to suburban areas. Connolly, Pearse Street and Tara Street DART stations are all located about 10 minutes’ walk from The CCD.

Tram (Luas)

Luas is Dublin’s light rail transit system. There are two lines, the Green Line and the Red Line. The CCD is on the Red Line, conveniently linking to downtown Dublin and Connolly and Heuston rail stations. Major Square and Spencer Dock are the closest stops. Switch between the Red and Green lines at Abbey Street / O’Connell – GPO / Marlborough stops. 

Bus

Dublin Bus offers a high frequency, easy-to-use and accessible service across all of the city centre and surrounding areas. These services include city bus services, AirlinkNitelink and DART feeder buses. Exact change, weekly tickets or top up Leapcards must be used. Busáras is the central bus station in Dublin for intercity and regional bus services operated by Bus Éireann. Busáras is just 5 minutes from The CCD on the Luas Red Line or a 12 minute walk and is located beside Connolly railway station.

By Bike

The CCD is situated where the Royal Canal meets the River Liffey. Recent developments along the Royal Canal, including pedestrian and cyclist crossing at North Strand Road, mean accessing The CCD by bike from the west of the city is easier than ever. If you are cycling your own bike to The CCD, there are parking facilities in our car park, which you can use to secure your bike. You can access them by entering the East door to the building (adjacent to PwC) and taking the elevator to the B1 or B2 car park levels. There are bike racks outside the elevator lobbies on the East and West sides of both levels. Please note, you will require your own lock to secure your bike.

dublinbikes are the perfect way to get around the city whilst minimising your effect on the local environment. There are over 100 dublinbike stations distributed throughout the city centre, with two large stations right beside The CCD.

By Foot

For those who would like to incorporate some exercise into your commute, The CCD is conveniently located in the heart of the city centre and is easily accessible by foot from many of the public transport options. It is less than 20-minute walk to O’Connell Street and 30 minutes to Stephens Green. 

The CCD’s city centre location makes it quick and easy to reach by foot from your hotel or local accommodation. We encourage delegates to walk as it reduces your carbon footprint and is a great way to incorporate physical activity before and after your conference.
